State Representatives
Chester County has several outstanding representatives working to reduce fossil fuel dependence, thereby reducing GHG emissions. Representative Ross (158) introduced the Electric Energy Conservation Investment Act (HB 31), which requires that conservation must meet 0.4% of 2007 electricity demand in 2010, then 2.0% in 2014.
Representative Barb McIlvaine Smith (156) has introduced HB 1787, designed to give municipalities more power to address land-use ordinance challenges by developers. She also introduced HB 17, which excludes sales tax on the purchase of hybrid vehicles.
Carol Rubley (157) introduced HB 45, requiring energy conservation for all state owned and state contracted buildings, and HB 46 would provide a tax credit for green buildings.
The 4CP applauds the lead our representatives are taking.
